Supreme Court rules for Samsung in smartphone fight with Apple

3D-printed Samsung and Apple logos are seen in this picture illustration made in ZenicaThe decision gives Samsung another chance to try to get back a big chunk of the money it paid Apple in December following a 2012 jury verdict that it infringed Apple's iPhone patents and mimicked its distinctive appearance in making the Galaxy and other competing devices. The ruling followed a ferocious legal battle between the world's top two smartphone manufacturers that began in 2011 when Apple sued Samsung, asserting that its rival stole its technology and the iPhone's trademarked appearance.

Trump scales back plans for 'huge' wall - at Irish seaside golf course

U.S. President-elect Donald Trump holds a golf club during a media event on the sand dunes of the Menie estate, the site for Trump's then-proposed golf resortBy Conor Humphries DUBLIN (Reuters) - A golf course owned by U.S. President-elect Donald Trump has agreed to scale back a wall designed to protect its greens from coastal erosion after opposition from local residents, the local council said on Tuesday. A plan submitted by Trump's company in May to build a 2.8 km (1.7 miles) armourstone wall up to 20 meters wide and 5 meters above the water line between the sea and the dunes sparked a campaign by environmental groups and locals to protect the beach. In its place, the golf club management are now proposing two less visible barriers, of 650 meters and 250 meters in length, above the water line at either end of the beach, two people who attended a public consultation on Monday said.

After rising over 15 percent over the four sessions since the Nov. 30 OPEC meeting, Brent futures were down $1.25, or 2.3 percent, to $53.69 a barrel at 10:13 a.m. EST (1513 GMT). The Brent front-month has outperformed the U.S. contract since the OPEC meeting, with its premium over WTI reaching $2.29 a barrel earlier on Tuesday, its highest since August.
